Bible Verse of the Day, Friday 28th February 2025
“For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.” – 1 Timothy 2:5 (NIV)
Prayer Before Reading:
Heavenly Father, Thank You for the gift of Your Word that reveals Your truth and draws us closer to You. As we reflect on this verse, help us understand the power and significance of Jesus as our mediator. Open our hearts to receive Your grace and strengthen our faith in Christ’s finished work. May Your Spirit guide us into deeper knowledge and love for You. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
Message from the Verse:
This verse beautifully highlights the core of the gospel: Jesus Christ is the one and only mediator between humanity and God. Because of sin, there was a separation between God and people, but Jesus, through His sacrifice, bridged that gap. As fully God and fully man, He perfectly represents both sides — reconciling us to the Father. Through Jesus, we can approach God with confidence, knowing our relationship is restored, and eternal life is secured.
Today’s Lessons:
1. Jesus as the Only Mediator: No one else can reconcile us to God — only Jesus’ sacrifice makes salvation possible.
2. Access to God through Christ: We don’t need another intermediary; we can come directly to God through Jesus.
3. The Power of the Cross: Christ’s death and resurrection broke the barrier of sin, making peace with God available to all who believe.
4. Unity in Christ: Because there is only one mediator, the gospel is universal — offered to every nation, tribe, and person.
Bible References:
John 14:6 – “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'”
Hebrews 9:15 – “For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant…”
Romans 8:34 – “Christ Jesus who died — more than that, who was raised to life — is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.”
Acts 4:12 – “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”
Closing Prayer:
Gracious Father, Thank You for sending Jesus to be our mediator and for making a way for us to know You personally. We are grateful for the sacrifice He made to bring us back into relationship with You. Help us live in the freedom and joy of this reconciliation, and give us the boldness to share this truth with others. May our lives be a reflection of Your love and grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
